in high school back then bought some calves back grounded for winter, ran on summer pasture, fed them to fat and and got less than first cost back. dad reminded me i had ten head he had 1000. REALLY a great reminder for me now and i am cutting back this year. Lots and i mean lots of hfrs being bred we will soon have more to choose from. just have to be around next year and liquid enough to buy them.
yeah but how many if any of the heifers being bred your talking about will become an additional calf producing cow to the herd rather than just a replacing a cow that gets culled from the herd
