New Mexico | if the other State is similiar to say Western Nebraska ( sandhill cow country )...should be an easy move.
Cow based areas in the West appreciate other folks more than States farther East.
( just less folks, so everyone counts )
Weather? granted NE weather is nothing to write home about...heck a LOT of areas have better weather than NE.
Say Thermop Lander Riverton WY is pretty decent winter country generally for instance.
Keep in mind some areas you need to carry a rifle when irrigating / fencing etc....been a few bear suprises by farmers in WY...and the bears won too.
