Edit to add. I'm just the opposite of you. I'd rather be in a tractor. About 20 years ago I got out of the cows which in this area was unheard of. Most everyone have both livestock and grain. But it wasn't efficient for me spending 40% of my time for 10% of my income. Had some pastures been arranged differently so the cattle would have required less time to care for I may have stayed with them but now I sure don't miss them and it was the best decision I made. Made me become a better grain farmer because I had no excuse to not get things done and without the cows I am more prepared for the grain farm requirements.
