Little River, TX
Solar Panels may not be all that great.

Far West  Texas Today and Tomorrow
Solar Radiation (Watt-Hrs/SQ M)           8313            8320

HERE for today and tomorrow
Solar Radiation (Watt-Hrs/SQ M)           4174            2557

These days the panels are about 20% efficient.
Our local Son In-Law covered his roof with panels.  Thanks to all of  YOU US Tax Payers it is almost cost efficient.

With the Walmart Roof Coverings that may be a money maker in this climate. It shades the roof and less of the Sun's heat reaches the inside of the Big Box.  I would prefer someone like WYDave run the numbers and say if Covering Large Buildings with panels pencils out. With and Without YOUR Tax contribution.

As for ground coverings for roads &c to get even 20% efficiency will require often and repeated cleaning.  This will require a whole lot more of YOUR tax money.

Oh Yes Son In-Law has a super power washer to clean the dirt and dust off the panels.
