Walmart is putting up solar panels for the same reason everyone else is: Because the government has subsidized them to the point where there isn't only a savings on power, there is good money to be made in solar. However, take away the false economic benefits of the subsidy, and they are a loser.
Look at campaign contributions from Solar Co's and solar panel mfg's, it is no reason solar is the surest way to save to earth... lol. The government has made sure of it.
