We have about 18 megawatts of solar here in Gainesville, FL. It is subsidized, I think the Solar FIT program pays somewhere around 34 cents a KWH, to the solar plant owner and then sold to electric consumers for a fraction of the cost.
I have seen solar PV panels for as low as 58 cents a watt, if you buy a pallet of them.
For me, it would still be a 10-12 year ROI, IF nothing broke.
