E.Central MN | I don't think any of the big grain buyers will point to somebody walking on a contract as a reason they won't do forward contracts except basis ones. I think they see two scenerios happening, one: with good weather prices crash in which case they'd rather buy grain later or
two: we have a drought and prices go thru the roof and margin calls increase.
I'd guess they feel scenerio one is more likely but are using scenerio two as their excuse to stop offering forward contracts. | |
