I forgot that when we had a 1790 it only had two hyd. drive motors on it. 15' sections would be plenty wide. After having hyd. drive I wouldn't go back to mechanical.

The DB we have now is hyd. drive and it has 3 motors on it. You can control each motor with a toggle switch rather than just one or the other via the half width disconnect. Each motor drives from the middle of its section. If you used the DB kit that Trucount offers it would make it 6  10' sections which would be ok for us. Looking at their site, you can't use that particular setup on anything less than 30" rows without building some sort of jackshaft arrangement above the row units. Irrelevant to me at this point as we're looking to trade for a DB 24r30 for 2009.

BTW, when did you get the MT Cat?
