This officer addressed the situation within seconds and had of he waited a few more seconds the dog would have been too close to use lethal force and the pitbull would have had the upper hand. If 20 other similar scenarios would have taken place in Southern California or Chicago a kid would have been mauled.
When a pitbull is on top of a kid locked down on him it is too late to pull the trigger.
Don't ruin the majority of outcomes because of this one instance. Choosing dogs safety over kids is what is being petitioned.
