Jonathan Foley is the director of the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota.

Nothing new there of course, but it's interesting how corn productivity as human food is of the same order as the productivity in Bangladesh and other "lowly" countries after you integrate both direct and indirect (via animal feed) food systems.
I'd love to see more diverse crops used for wholesome food too, instead of all this corn and soybeans used mostly for feed, but the economics do not encourage such diversity.
