I have wanted to start a cow herd as well. Can't seem to justify taking corn out of production for more pasture and everything I hear about dry lotting cows is bad. So I definitely can understand where you are coming from! So I guess I'm stuck focusing on doing a good job buying calves and feedin them out and letting the guys who have grass do their job!

Maybe some day corn will get cheap enough that pasture can compete ... Not sure that'd be a good thing tho either!!!
