Southwest OK
Lots of Indian campsites. My little brother has a collection of close to a thousand artifacts he has found. The beginnings of the Cut Throat Gap Massacre started a half mile from my fathers house. On one farm you can still see wagon ruts cut into the sandrock from the supply wagons that traveled from Fort Sill to Fort Supply. On another farm close by there are limestone rocks placed into the creek where the same trail crosses Stinking Creek. Several Indian burial sites. I haven't found any historical records of a battle there, but one farm we have found two cannon balls and several splattered round bullets. Delf "Jelly" Bryce, one of the most famous FBI agents and trick/speed shooters ever, and supposedly the inspiration for the Dick Tracey comic strip lived on one farm.
