Fairbury, NE (Southeast)
Supposedly Jesse James hid out in a mud-hut for a time south of the farm. Have a 40 acre patch of prairie grass that has wagon ruts from the Oregon trail and a burial marker from a fellow by the name of George Winslow. He caught Cholera near the Kansas/Nebraska state line and died on the way out. Supposed to be one of the few marked graves on the whole trail. Kinda fun to bounce over the wagon ruts every year when we put up hay. Makes you think of what they had to go through for 1800 miles.
