NE central IL | The farm bills that passed the at committe from both houses is available on the web if a person wants to take the time to find and read it. The Senate passed the bill. The House version was not placed on the docket to be voted upon. There seemed to not be enough time for proper deliberation before the recess (however they were able to pass a repeal of the Affordable Care Act TWICE this summer). The simple truth is that Speaker Bainer (sp) believed that if the republicans retained the house picked up some seats in the senate and Romney was elected POTIS then they could pass the farm bill that Paul Ryan's budget committee pushed for cutting all conservation and SNAP spending so the 1% could get their tax cut. If they had passed a farm bill prior to the election it would be law for the next 5 years and there would not be enough savings for Romney to have his tax cut for the Billionares at the expence it the environment and the poor! | |
