Red River Valley
I have seen the same situation as you describe.
I used to work in food grade sunflower processing plant.
We would get some organic contracts to clean every so often. The clean out rates were just awful, on conventional products we would rarely clean out more than 15%, if you would have wanted the organics at the same quality as conventional we would have had a clean out rate of about 85%.
The other thing that just burned me were the snotty organic inspectors. "Well we have to make sure your facility is clean."
I finally told the one inspector, "We have to spend three times the amount of time cleaning out after an organic run, so we won't contaminate a good product" with all that diseased, bug infested, mouse piss smelling, crap.
It would take three weeks to get the stink out of the building after an organic run.
29 people worked there and I don't think you would get anyone of them to buy anything organic after those experiences.
