Subject: RE: JD 1895 disk drill versus an air hoe drill

Southern Alberta
In reading the replies and doing more thinking I am probably not going to get a JD disk drill. If it only seeds at 6-7 mph and can't seed when the straw it tough, it will not seed much more in a week than my bourgault hoe drill does now.

Currently looking at a bourgault paralink drill and morris contour drill. Both look like they should pull easy and cover more acres per day. Downside is cost. Man are they proud of the bourgault paralink drill ($$$$$).

In looking at the JD aircart, it looks like the tow behind model would skew the drill like crazy on sidehills. The bourgault carts are very good on sidehills because of the wagon style steering.

Quite an advantage to buying a US built airdrill right now as they are priced 25-30000 cheaper than Canadian built product right now.
