| If you are switching from a hoe drill to a disk you will be disappointed. I think you will have trouble penetrating straw, you will experience hairpinning of the straw, poor emergence results from this. You will not be able to travel much faster, sometimes slower depending on the hairpinning. Why dont you just buy a bigger bourgault, they make them up to 74 feet now, I think you would have to be going about 12 mph to match that capacity with the 1895. Maitence is also much higher, there are bearings everywhere, and there are zerks I think three on each opener. Lots of greasing. Seed placing (when working well) is unmatched with the 1895 though. Good luck with your decision but I would just get a bigger hoe drill. | |
