Iowa | Unless you have a brand-new baby I don't see how its up to you to do ANYTHING--Your wife isn't your mother--it's not WIFE's day. (I've been happily married for 30 yrs and once the kids were maybe 10 or so its THEIR problem--not mine.)
Treat 'em good EVERY day is the best gift of all. My wife likes to tell about back when she was single, she worked with a gal whose husband treated her like crap (spent HER money, fooled around w the neighbor lady, was in general a drunken, lazy bum) on a daily basis and then sent flowers to her job for her birthday, their anniversary, valentine's Day, etc. My wife learned a lesson back then--"all I want is to be treated good every day and let the stupid holidays be for the jerks that have lots of stuff to try to make up for" has been her motto from day one. I know that won't work for everyone, but it has worked out very well here. (yes I know I am very lucky)
I wouldn't spend a nano-second worrying about this situation if I was you. | |
