Might be sticking my foot in the keyboard, but...I get the feeling if you got a card, she'd want flowers, flowers would have been the dinner. Who knows. Is she usually like this, is there some kind of "history" with her and your mom? I can tell a long joke (it's clean) about how it's impossible to please a woman, but it's too long to type.
