Memphis, NY | I think GangGreen's got it right. Some posters may not read it the way I did, but I think you are referring to mean cattle vs. one that is protective.
I'm on a dairy here, and it seems more common to have a mean cow than the occasional overprotective mother. But, most of the time even the mean cows only pick on certain people or types of people such as women or kids. I tell people there are three factors to a person being injured by cattle: the facility that allows it, the person that allows it, and the animal. Only one of the three is easily removed from the equation.
I do get your point though, about people being inept about cattle. My kid brother was better help with heifers at eight years old than most people I've worked with!! | |
