im with you Jim, doesn't make sense its all based on hide color. now in the red angus world there red angus influenced sales " very good IMHO " will allow with source verification any calf from a regestered red angus sire to sell at there sale, your calves for instance from those perty herford cows with a reg red angus bull for a "red baldie" one of my fav x would sell for a real prem, i may be wrong but i believe an assumed angus infuence is used at the kill floor to qualify for CAB , but the beef would still have to grade to make CAB. if i'm wrong i hope to be corrected by an active angus guy, feeder or seedstock man, MARKRITE would be able to answer better than i based on his backround.
