Actually, I believe the REd angus tend to carry more muscle and are more moderate in size. They tend to be more heat tolerant and I don not believe they have some of the inbreeding issues either. The Black breed has gotten to big in frame trying for the huge WW and YW. The breeders are to number oriented for performance. These are my opinions and not 100 % factual. Main reason I'm black is red calves at the sale barn were severely disconted. One time I took Black Baldys and Red baldys. The Black 475# calves were $.93 and the 425# reds were $.67 and were I identical and same sire.
