NC Indiana | That's what Dad keeps saying. He's leaning towards buy more bred cows and keep less heifers. Eq salesman said he could get us $100/ton for our corn silage delivered 75 miles down state. Guy had 600 hd on the ground and 600 coming in today, going over seas from here. The one lot of 8 wts steers that sold locally Saturday went for $1115, 7 wts bulls/heifers were $1000-1040/hd. Bred cows (calving now thru April per adds) in the farm paper last night from $1350-$1650. The few "bred" cows (no vet on hand) that sold Saturday went for kill price - $790 - $1360. | |
