South Central Kansas, Harper County | At the cow sale I attended yesterday in Salina, Kansas, prices were HOT! First calf heifer pairs, Red Angus, brought $2400. That was tops for the heifer pairs, other heifer pairs ranged from a low of $1950 up to the $2400, average was probably $2200. I stayed after our replacement heifers sold to watch the first bunch of bred cows sale. 3-5 year old blacks, 8 month bred, brought $1985 each. I left after that, so don't know what the rest of the bred cows sold for, but it was an active market. |
