Subject: Re: finger or vacuum units

I also had trouble running a 12r30 vac on my 7110 - ended up (as suggested here) running the vac on remote #2 and the lift on #3 (cost 2 days and a JD service call). I had to make some flow adjustments at the valve block (I guess the 72xx has more adjustability in the cab?) to keep the vacuum from being too high, but it worked ok in the end. However, I wouldn't say the spacing is any better than my 7000 finger pickup planter - even with the SI Dist 40 hole disks - it's not unacceptable, but I think the finger is as good and it's nowhere as good as the white. I think with some additional tuning it will get better and it's certainly a simple enough system compared to the finger pickup.

Hope this helps, Pat
