I have a 4 year old yellow lab and he is very well behaved. I think think that discipline is the way to go. Easier than installing a fence or burying a wire. He needs to know that he has done wrong and there will be consequences. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is catch him in the act. But remember they understand English pretty well so get it in his head what is good and bad right away. I think my dog even understands some French... Good job on praising him when he is well behaved too.
