Hang in there Indy. Our yellow lab was two and a half years old before she finally grew up. She still digs the occasional hole but she hasn't torn up or chewed anything up in almost four years. She is a real good dog. We have an underground fence that keeps her home. I think she only ever got shocked by it once or twice. After that they know where the boundary is and stay clear. If they forget the high pitched tone shuts them down long before they get shocked.
