I think, I remember someone saying that the dog can only leave the area if the system is turned off and the dog is in the car or pickup or something.  Telling the dog it is OK to leave the area, but on in this fashion.  Do I have this correct?

I could do the fence as our house is in the country, but we have a pond on the property, about 6-700 ft away.  You know how those labs like the water.  How do we deal with this and an invisible fence?
