Well,

1. It doesn't dry out as fast.
2. If the mound isn't high enough you have a major problem.
3. It doesn't warm up as fast.
4. Basically it takes more time(waiting to dry) and management. These are two things that I have maxed out. If the strip till doesn't get done correct the first time you are somewhat in trouble, it can be fixed by working the field in the spring. If you have to work some of your strip till in the spring, you might as well work it in the fall. It's hard to mess up with a ripper and field cultivator.
5. Popular opinion may frown on it(landlords).

I wish I could strip till but I've tried on bean stubble and it has given me the situations I've named above. I would think these situations would only multiple when it would be corn on corn.
