| Well I'm sick of fighting the mud so I quit for the day.
I've been thinking alot (maybe too much) while I have been planting. I'm always trying to come up with more efficient ways to farm.
So my latest thought has been that I will try to put down fertilizer in the fall with a ripper(DMI or Wilrich type) that is on 30 inch spacings. Basically I would have my fertilizer in 30 inch strips like strip-till but I will still be doing full width tillage. Then in the spring I will work the ground with a field cultivator and then plant on top of where the fertilizer was placed. Most of the acres will be corn on corn.
Obviously I would need RTK autopilot.
What do you think of this idea? I think it would work, but I don't know much, so help me out.
I like strip till but I'm not interested for a few reasons, thanks. | |
