I wouldn't put on any 28% after wheat has greened up without using stream bars. There's too much potential for crop injury to use regular spray nozzles.

Generally, I think you're on the right track with your fertilizer program.......provided you've done soil samples to determine what your crop needs to meet it's potential. You may want to try some trials using more nitrogen just to see if you can get more than enough increase in yield to offset the extra nitrogen cost.

One last suggestion would be to go to Phil Needham's website. Phil works world-wide with wheat. He can offer a lot of useful information. It would be good to purchase the publications he has available for wheat production. Those publications are available off of his website.
