Yep, it all depends on how much water you get and when you get it. I tried continous cropping but have gone back to a 1 fallow period prior to wheat. It's important for me to get a good wheat crop to produce good residue cover for the next 2 years of corn. Can't get a good enough wheat crop most years here without the fallow period. Poor wheat usually ends up getting followed by 1-2 years of poor corn crops so one crop disaster snowballs into more.
