NW IA | I think it has to do with living in town, they think there is nothing else to do. We live on a farm - always something to do as far as work goes. Our kids worked from 14 on, son worked at grocery store bagging groceries at 14, worked at a pizza place at 16 and worked for the local golf course mowing lawns at 18. The girls worked for the nursing home in the kitchen at 14 and then as a CNA at 16. There are jobs to be found, the kids just don't want to work anymore. We tried to hire some of our kids friends to help pick up rock in a field (with pay) and we couldn't get any takers. | |
