SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ
I do the wisheck disc here, then fall apply 100 lbs N H3,then in the spring apply 1000 to 2000 gals hog manure over the top broadcast with one pass field cult. This way I have some N deep and some shallow, covers any weather extremes.
My COC looks as good as my corn after beans. COC this way has been 200 bpa on my home farm pretty consistently. The manure grows alot of residue so its important to manage it.
I have to lower my pits in the spring to make it till fall so this program works pretty well for me. COC has been better for return then soybeans. BUT I need some soybeans so I have a place to haul fall hog manure. Beans allow earlier fall application then corn. Thats important when you are getting the manure custom applied.
