hear in kansas they said it would be a toss up for puttin down insul. we did not wish we would have. heat up time I believe would be faster. use some kind of barrier even if its only 1/4 at least it seperates and makes a space . we love our floor heat .. 2 deg diff. between floor and ceiling.
