southern MN | This is pretty much it - you say it's just how it is.
And just how it is, those who are unfairly, overly taxed, are going to vote against those taxes any way they can. Only way is to vote against the tax issue when it comes up.
The farmers might not be against the school, but it is their only oppertunuty to avoid an unfair tax issue.
just how it is. They don't make the rules either.
In MN I believe they took ag land off the tax roles, only the house area of a farm contributes to the school district, to try to make it more equal between home owners of all classes. I think.
