Ripley, Ontario Canada | Perhaps the real reason is that they may find something that you "don't" have. The cost argument is not really an issue, if it is $10 a head that is less dollars than if cattle haven't had an overnight stand and are sold "full" The cost will go down with volume. I have to believe the real reason is that they don't want to find any more positive animals, and a packer testing everything will be a lot harder to control and cover up than the current system. There is a lot of money and power for the people responsibe for food safety and marketing, and anything that makes them look bad is a problem for them. It would likely help the farmer by getting more markets. | |
