Subject: Re: Why would USDA Fight this?

The NCBA is the recognized "grass roots produce organization" of the beef industry and it has a substantial number of cow-calf ranchers as members, although the number of producers that are not members is substantial also. The NCBA has for years been nothing more than a 'packer lackey', using its american rancher image to the packers advantage, regardless of the effect on the rancher. The NCBA has been an extremely successful organization, and placing it's own people in the USDA is the ultimate indicator of that success and also a guarantee of the policy that will be created and followed. The NCBA is a model of an organization that has served it's members well. I just don't like what is on their menu anymore. Nor would many others if they had a choice.
