We sold the last of our calves a week ago. The tail end steers were weighing just shy of 500lbs and they brought $1.31. We were pretty happy that they were still able to bring that much. They were about 20 cents back from the ones we sold during the summer for December delivery. We don't have the bragging rights for heaviest calves weaned, (we never did) but we have been pretty consistent on making money on the calves since we switched calving season. The 500lb calf usually has strong demand.
