North Central Illinois | My reply was to what gary was refering to and he used the quote from above to calculate what it would cost to replace 1/16 of an inch of top soil he did not reference the difference between an acre furrow slice and cost to purchase said acre. I did not read the studies that were mentioned but from the replies it seams they believe that you must lose 1/16 of and inch from the burning not the full acre slice.
If your going to replace the entire furrow slice of 6.7 inches that would be more like 43560 x 6.7/12 = 24,321 cu ft / 27 = 900.77 cu. yds. x $15 = $13511.55
