Farmerboy is correct - Deere calls them a "conservation disk opener", and they will get you down to moisture if it's within 3-4 inches. However, be prepared for a full bed in the middles. Learning the hard way (which seems to be the only way) I wouldn't attempt it. Dealing with crop insurance, a skippy stand is worst case scenerio. Better to have full stand or no stand. If you don't think you'll get every seed up, then shallow it up all the and dry plant it. If it rains, you're in good shape, and if it doesn't you're in good shape (insurance wise). Either way, it's a miserable situation, and we empathize with you. Just my 2 cents...
