Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!! | Captain Obvious - 4/11/2010 14:34 Wonder how many die hard no tillers till there garden. Never seen a no till garden Practice what you preach. I've been no-tilling my garden for about 9 years now, and started after seeing the field benefits of no-till. Good question. Less weeds in my garden now. We have a weed called purslane which is one tough mother. The seeds are supposedly viable for 60 years. Every time we used to till, we'd get thousands more seeds brought to the surface. I am pleased to say it is petering out under no-till. Our gardens have been getting really good as of late, all that residue shades the ground and keeps it cool and moist. I must say the worms love us too. |
