Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!! | Grain farmer - 4/11/2010 01:31 You can thank the "no earthworm populations" to annhydrous. We are basically conventional tillage and ever since we started using urea and stopped using annhydrous the earthworms are back. Interesting, I have found precisely the opposite. I had few worms with no NH3, and now they have run amok after using an awful lot of NH3. Google earthworms and you will find in actual scientific studies, they are affected very little by NH3, unless they are in the injection zone. Tillage is by far worse for them then a narrow band of juice an inch wide every 20 inches or so...Would you stick around if you had to constantly rebuild your home? If your food was not where you needed it to be, and less accesible? if precious water was taken from you and you had to therefore stay below your ideal zone of comfort? IMO. Just my opinion. |
