Hillsboro, AL | What you are referring to is the GPS quality indicator. It is a standard part of the NMEA GGA string. It is explained on page 10 of this document . Originally "0" meant invalid fix, "1" meant GPS fix and "2" meant DGPS fix. When RTK came along "4" and "5" were added for RTK fix and RTK float. Older equipment looked for the "2" for a good fix and did not recognize the "4" or "5" from a RTK signal. Omnistar XP should be sending a "2", so this should not matter. And, most newer equipment has been modified to accept this now.
