I agree with you to a point. Our farm doesn't work on Sundays so its a moot point for us.
However, using your argument, you could argue that a $25 charge for the parts man coming in is a drop in the bucket compared to the loss of use of the baler for a whole day so the return on investment on the $25 is the best ROI you might ever see.
It doesn't feel right to pay the $25 but I can see why they charge it.
It may also depend on whether the customer does $300 of business there in a year or $30 000 of parts and service in a year.
And its unrealistic to say to just have parts stocked. I can see sickles, guards etc. (common parts) but if I had every bearing on my combines in stock, I'd have a lot of stock that has a very small chance of ever being used.
