Wisconsin | at this point it's an ego thing to do an electric semi. Electric city buses make sense, along with garbage trucks and short haul delivery. There was a Scania? VW bigwig video where he essentially said the same thing, their goal is buses, but they have to prove the whole vehicle range in order to sell the buses.
If the batteries get cheap enough, then all our grid issues are solved, and 90% of new vehicles will be EV's. In the meantime, I think the current crop of free school buses is going to backfire as badly as solar hot water did in the 70's. And suburban school buses are about as good an application for EV as anything.
