If you have 80k leave it, you’re yield will be fine. Ask company to replace the seed for next year (unit for unit not $’s) - you’ll get something for the poor germ, and they’ll have better seed quality. I’ve planted seed increases as low as 80k (planting) and had mid 60’s yield on them. Use weed control as your negotiating piece.
60's is a big yield bust in my area. 3 big seed companies grow in our area because we're 70 to 80 bushel beans consistently. Last year being exceptional it was 80 to 90 range. Our 5 year average is 71bu. |
