Was doing 50/50 for years but now the kids have it who know 0 about farming. Like everyone else, they see high crop prices and assume we are getting rich. We will be switching to cash rent this the question. Halves worked out great before with both parties making good money. Just too much complications and lack of understanding on new owners parts.


I also should add that the renter would be responsible for all application costs since so many now opt to have coops do everything but plant and combine lol.
So NH3, dry, spraying is considered machinery and 100% renters responsibility even if hiring it done.
Crop Ins 50/50
All revenue50/50
Gives a young guy a great opportunity but fair to landowner in such uncertain times imo.
