Subject: Re: Grain Elevator Advice

I put up a 10000 bu/hr Sudenga leg 2 years ago. I use a drag coveyer to unload trucks and a 10" u-troff and power sweep in the wet holding (all above ground). We can dump a semi in 8 minutes easily one hopper at a time. Kalor at Faimont MN set us up with a control panel with a Programable Logic Controler. It time delays starting and stopping. It also watches amperages on all the motors and shuts things down before anything can plug. I have a touch screen and you can change the delay times and high and low amp shut down. The leg fills the dryer and then overflows into the wet holding bin. When corn is dryer it realy saves energy by not moving much corn twice. The leg has a 40 hp motor but rarely takes much over no load amps. Hope this helps.
