SCMN | Thanks for all the good info guys, it sounds like taking the feeder off is the way to go. The machine has around 3500 sep hrs if I remember correctly. I'm sure they have been replaced before, we used to take the machine in every few years to the JD dealer and have it gone through but I hate paying for things I can do myself. That and dad started trusting me to do more of his repairs now :) We have a 5K lb forklift that we can use to take it off, our cornhead is only an 893 and I don't want to tip it over. I'll probably just pull it and inspect the innerds to see what else needs replacement. The machine is run in soybeans and corn only. I will have to go back and read all the threads on which bars are the best for our uses. Is there anything I should mark when taking the house off(ie: does anything need to be timed together)? | |
